Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 5, 2026
This privacy policy applies to the LockStar app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices.
No Data Collection
We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal data.
LockStar is designed to be completely offline and 100% privacy-focused. All your data, including encrypted files, app lock settings, PINs, and local analytics (such as failed unlock attempts), is stored strictly locally on your device and never leaves it.
Permissions Used and Why
To provide its core security features, LockStar requires certain device permissions. All processing is done locally:
- Camera: Used exclusively for the "Intruder Selfie" feature to take a photo of anyone attempting to guess your PIN. These photos are saved locally in the app's secure storage and are never uploaded or shared anywhere.
- Biometrics: Used to securely unlock the app using your device's built-in fingerprint or face unlock sensors. We do not have access to your raw biometric data; we only rely on the Android system's authentication result.
- Accessibility Service: Used to detect when you open a protected app so that LockStar can present the lock screen. We do not monitor, log, or transmit the content of your screen or your interactions with other apps.
- Storage (Files and Media): Used to securely encrypt and store the personal files and photos you choose to move into your private vault.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy here.
